Judith W. Clark
Judith
Clark was named Executive Director of Opera Roanoke in April 2007. She
held the position From
1989-1994 during the
company’s transition from a volunteer to a fully professional
organization.
She
received
an undergraduate degree in music from Mary
Washington College,
a Master of Music degree in piano performance from Northwestern
University, and has
done postgraduate study
with Eric Larsen at North
Carolina School
of the Arts.
She
has served on the
faculties of Roanoke College
and Hollins University
and has been a member of the regional faculty at Mary
Baldwin College
since 2003. At Roanoke
College, she served as
Arts
Administrator, a position that included management of the fine arts
facility; development,
promotion, and management of the concert series; and direction of the
Preparatory Division of Music.
As
a pianist, she has collaborated with many
professional musicians, including Marilyn DuBow, Ralph Evans, Jonathan
Mack,
William Riley, Nicholas Loren, and Roanoke
international tenor William Dupré.
As
a
member of the operatic trio TRITTICO, she toured for Young Audiences of
Virginia and served as Roanoke Director of the organization from
1998-2004.
As
an arts consultant, she
has worked with arts organizations in Virginia,
Pennsylvania, Tennessee,
Georgia,
and Texas,
providing assistance with fund raising, marketing, and strategic
planning.
She has served
as Education and Development Associate and performance pianist for
Opera Roanoke.
