Cast
Performances in Area
Schools
Opera
Roanoke frequently introduces students in local schools to cast members
of Opera Roanoke mainstage productions through in-school performances.
These free programs offer opportunities for students to interact with
singers to discover more about opera and the career of an opera singer.
Opera Insights
Prior to each
mainstage performance, the Company's Artistic Director or other guest
speakers offer an informal lecture to the general audience on the
background of the opera and its staging.
Community
Outreach
Opera
Roanoke regularly presents programs for Kiwanis, Rotary, and other
civic organizations with cast members engaged for its productions.
Singers have regularly performed in Martinsville for the Piedmont Arts
Association and Buchanan Community Center.
Cities in western
Virginia have hosted recent Opera Roanoke productions. Martinsville,
Lexington, Covington and Lynchburg have all played host to our road
shows. This year we are pleased to add Charlottesville to our list of
travel venues.
